  I HAVE MADE A DECISION TO LEAVE

  i haven't been on jwd for the last few days as my good friend had her mum die suddenly and i have been spending time just being there for my friend.. i was shocked and saddened to hear that trevor and linda was a sham.

  it's sometimes hard not to become cynical with life and not trust anyone when this sort of thing happens.. i have made a big decision and i hope that i don't live to regret it.

  i have posted that i have been trying to "fade" as my son and his family are jw's and i don't want to lose them because of being shunned.

  I am so sorry about the loss of your friend's mother. Were you very close to her mom?

  Good luck with the da. It is very challenging to make these sort of major life changes in the midst of loss.

  I suspect many fanatics of all colors would go there, but not all JWs would.

  Some would realize the insanity of their faith, I suspect, if truly confronted with such commands; however, the history of fanatacism does not bode well for true pacifists.

  I suppose pacifism is also its own kind of fanatacism, though, and jws claim to be pacifists. I rather think they're passive-aggressives, not pacifists.

  Strange to realize how passive-aggressive they are, when you read articles like that one.

  Instead of actually killing us off, they expect god to do it; maybe the way Trevor killed off Linda or at Armageddon or whatever; it's symbolic of how they feel about the here and now.

  Here and now is not the most important reality for them because they feel assured of future paradise, and the people in the here and now - whether on the internet or the next door non-jw neighbors aren't as real for them as fellow jws are.

  It's just isolationist de-humanization of the "other," like someone was talking about on another thread today. I think many religious fanatics dehumanize non-believers and atheists that way.

  I hope not. There are a lot of nice ones here. I wouldn't even want them to kill other JWs, much less ex-jws. I think they do try to kill us emotionally, though.

  No. Because there is not. Creatures like humans will always find a way to justify in their own minds what they know is wrong. God is just one of many excuses and justifications.

  I'm So Happy!! A NEVER Give Up Hope Story

  like most everyone here, i had a painful yet liberating exiting of the org.. one of the most difficult parts was saying goodbye to a dear friend.

  he couldn't believe that i no longer was a "believer", and during our last conversation 3 years ago, he ran out in tears extremely upset.

  i told him that i would always love him and thought there was a good chance that that was the last time i'd ever talk to him.. however last week......he called me!!!!.

  if you see that something a poster states is actually inconsistent or inaccurate, will radar go off in your head to call the person on it?

  i think we should be more aware, not paranoid or judgmental, but more alert to phony posters or those that try to spread inaccurate information.

  If you question something someone posts, you should confront it head-on.

  Why not?

  There can be no harm in getting either a clarification, affirmation, or a nullification, unless you prefer to believe your own interpretation or possible misunderstandings, which does more harm than good.

  My Mum's gone

  a few months ago i noticed that my mum had put her house up for sale, she doesn't live far from me and i had occasion to drive past her house.. well i've had a funny unsettled feeling all week, and i drove along the back of her house yesterday, and all the curtains were gone, she'd obviously left.

  feeling brave i drove round the front, and yes its empty, doesnt look like she's been gone long.

  i got out and went in the back garden, and looked through the windows.

  Shell - That makes me feel so . . . empty.

  I am sorry for your loss.

  It is hard for me to imagine even the craziest of parents not loving their children.

  I really don't think it's that she does not love you, but I know that it feels that way.

  She is doing some very unloving things because her mind truly is not her own.

  I'm not making excuses, but that's the only way I can come to terms with my own issues of abandonment.

  Their minds are not truly their own while locked into this cult.
